Last week, we shared some templates that you can use to post Linkedin content…
And to connect the ideas and go full circle…
We want to cover some ways to increase your engagement on Linkedin.
If you’ve ever felt like you were posting to the void…
With:
No engagement
No views
No comments (except maybe from your colleague or mom)
You’re not alone.
We all go through this at one point or another.
So let’s cover ways of…
Increasing Engagement On Your Content & Your Profile
While some platforms have tricky ways to boost their content, LinkedIn remains predominantly organic.
Some of our favorite ways to hack the algorithm are:
Optimize your profile:
Make sure your profile is complete and up-to-date and mentions relevant keywords. This not only increases your visibility on search results but also allows you to appear in the recommendations of others.
Posting during busy times:
Share your content when most people are online.
As LinkedIn is predominantly a platform for professionals, the most active times are as follows:
Try weekdays from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Using pictures and videos:
Using visual media is a quick way to make your posts stand out.
Statistically, these posts get more engagement and, consequently, more impressions.
Use the carousel format, upload a video, or include an image in your post to take advantage of this cool trick.
Now, let's talk about the best tip…
Adding value with comments
Comments are the gateway to profile views and connections.

Take the time to invest in some daily writing to leave good comments on other people's posts...
And you will reap the benefits.
Here are 10 ways to write great comments:
1. Share your thoughts
When sharing your thoughts, offer your ideas on the topic.
This adds more depth to their post and can be a gateway to get into a deeper conversation in the DMs.
For example, you can say something like "I agree with [name] and would also add that using a CRM system can help retain customers for longer."
2. Tell your story
Secondly, a great story always deserves to be told.
And this is a great way to share your experiences that relate to the topic.
For instance, you can say "I had a similar problem, and using a time management app helped me stay organized."
This helps you connect with others and build relationships.
3. Ask Questions
Asking questions is a good way to encourage the author to say more.
This shows that you're interested and can encourage others to answer for the author as well.
For example, "Can you tell me more about how AI is changing customer service?"
4. Offer to Connect
Offering to connect is a great way to show that you want to be friends with the author.
Just like the last one, it acts as a call to action for other members of their audience.
This helps you expand your network for leads as well as build relationships.
5. Share Resources
Suggest articles or books that add to the conversation.
This connects with our last newsletter where we talked about being a curator.
The content you digest is an indirect reflection of your ideas and practices as a professional.
Share good content and be associated with high-value ideas.
6. Give a Different View
Giving a different view is a good way to offer a new idea or share your different experience.
For instance, you can say "In my experience, remote teams can work better with the right tools and support."
This shows that you have a unique perspective and can contribute to the conversation.
7. Use Humor (When It's Okay)
LinkedIn doesn't have to be all about seriousness and business.
Keep it fun and engaging.
On the timeline the other day, I saw someone say, "I think coffee is a must for adulting. Anyone else?"
This lighthearted comment was something I could resonate with and definitely had a memorable impact.
8. Talk about current events
This is a great way to connect the topic to current events, and as many marketers agree, current topics get more attention than evergreen tips or tricks.
9. Thank the author
Thanking the author is a good way to show that you are grateful for their ideas, or that they have somehow imparted value in your life.
This encourages the author to create more and builds your rapport with their audience who share the same ideas.
10. Be professional
Being professional is important, even when you disagree.
Don’t be afraid to disagree, but never degenerate into an online troll.
Show that you can have a constructive conversation with class.
Final Thoughts
Being genuine on LinkedIn is key.
Use these tips to get more people to see your content and grow your professional network.
Until next time, keep it clever and stay connected!
Best,
Nick
